Folira — Privacy Policy

Folira ("the app") is a document scanner made by Leve. It has no user accounts and no cloud: your documents never leave your device. This policy explains the small amount of anonymous information the app exchanges with our server, why, and how to turn it off.

Your documents

Every page you scan, every signature you draw and every recognized text stays only on your device, in the app's private storage. Nothing is uploaded, ever — not for OCR, not for backups, not for support. If you delete the app, your documents are deleted with it (use Settings → Export everything to keep a backup).

Text recognition (OCR)

Text recognition runs entirely on your device using the operating system's / Google ML Kit's on-device models. Pages are never sent anywhere.

What the app does send

Folira has no login, so it cannot know who you are. Instead it uses an anonymous device key: a one-way hash (SHA-256) of an identifier of your device. It cannot be reversed to your device identifier, it is not shared with anyone and it cannot be matched with other apps or companies.

With that key, the app exchanges with our server (hosted by Supabase and Vercel):

1. Free-page counter and Pro status — how many of the 5 free pages this device has used and whether Folira Pro was purchased on it. This keeps your count and your purchase after you uninstall and reinstall, and it prevents the free limit from being reset by reinstalling. This exchange is part of how the app works and cannot be turned off.
2. Anonymous usage statistics (optional) — which features are used and how often (e.g. "a page was signed", "a PDF was shared"), the app version, the operating system version, the device model and the language. Never the content of any page, title, tag, note or recognized text. Turn this off any time in Settings → Help improve Folira.
3. Purchase confirmations — that a Folira Pro purchase or restore happened on this device (product, store transaction id, price and currency shown by the store). We never see your payment details, name or store account.
4. What you choose to write to us — the description of a problem (Settings → Report a problem), optionally a screenshot of the previous screen and an email address if you want a reply; and messages you send through Talk to me. We receive exactly what you see on the form, plus the app version and device model. Replies are delivered inside the app.

The app also records the country of the request as seen by our server (from the IP address), for statistics. The IP address itself is not stored with your data; a short-lived hash of it is kept for a few minutes only to limit abuse.

What the app never sends

Your documents, signatures, recognized text, titles, tags, notes, contacts, location, photos, or any account information. Folira contains no third-party analytics or advertising SDK and does not track you across apps or websites.

How long we keep it

Usage events and request logs are kept for at most 13 months. The device record (counter, Pro status), purchase confirmations, reports and messages are kept while Folira is offered, so your free pages and Pro purchase can be recognized on reinstall.

Deleting your data

Send us a message from Settings → Talk to me asking to delete your data — the message carries your anonymous device key, so we can erase everything associated with this device (including the counter and Pro record; you can restore Pro later through the store). You can also email hello@folira.app, but in that case we will need you to send the request from the app first, because we have no other way to identify your device.

Camera, photos, Face ID

• Camera: used only to scan documents, when you tap Scan.
• Photos: optional, only if you import a picture of a document.
• Face ID / Touch ID / fingerprint: optional, only if you turn on Lock Folira. Biometric data never leaves the secure hardware of your device and is never seen by the app.

Purchases

Folira Pro is a one-time purchase processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). The receipt is validated by the store on your device and the entitlement is stored locally in the device's secure storage; the server only keeps the anonymous confirmation described above. Restoring purchases is handled by the store.

Sharing

When you share a PDF, image or text, it goes only where you choose through the system share sheet. Folira does not see or keep a copy.

Children

Folira is not directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone. The anonymous device key cannot identify a person.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at the address above with an updated date.
